At The WineBarn we share a common passion – to find and import the very best quality modern German wines to the UK trade and consumer market.
Every producer we represent is hand-picked and each one has a unique story to tell. Some have a family run business that has been handed down through several centuries. Others are new producers with small vineyards where much of the work
is done by hand using traditional techniques. There is no ‘tick box’ approach to how we select our wines. Each producer is personally known to us and we have complete faith in the quality of their wines.
At The WineBarn we truly live, breathe and love our wines! Good German wine is everything to us and we strive to provide a service that is based on expert knowledge, quality advice and always a personal recommendation. Whatever your wine needs you can be certain that we can help select the right wines for your requirement. We also offer a Rare and Antique Wines service, sourcing elusive investment wines from hidden cellars in Germany. This is a very specialist field so please address any enquiries about rare or antique wines to Iris Ellmann; firstname.lastname@example.org
Affectionately known as the “Queen of Grapes” Iris is our German wine expert and loves nothing more than to be travelling through Germany discovering exciting new producers and delicious wines to share with you.
Favourite Wines: Riesling and Spaetburgunder
Favourite Sports: Iris has just taken up Kickboxing to release tension caused by spending too much time in the office and swears that hanging off a trapeze increases blood flow to the brain!
Favourite Pastimes: Loves cooking and entertaining; travelling and meeting new people. Has to glue herself to the chair in the office or she would be off travelling through all the wine growing regions in the world.
Hungarian born Angi is the team member who keeps us all in order – managing the office, wine deliveries, warehouse and accounts.
Favourite Wines: Kabinett , Auslese and Eiswein (she has a sweet tooth!)
Favourite Sports: Other than walking in the beautiful Hampshire hills Angi is not a fan of sports and prefers to spend her free time meeting up with friends, reading a good book, or relaxing in front of a great movie – preferably a period drama featuring Colin Firth!
Favourite Pastimes: Angi loves to cook Hungarian food and her favourite dish is Hungarian Wild Game Stew with a carrot sauce.
