The grapes used for this wine originate from the Ihringer Winklerberg, which is recognised as the warmest vineyard site in Germany. Due to strict reduction of yields, the distinctive terroir character, and the unique micro climate, this wine meets the highest requirements in the way as they are common for "Grand Cru" appellations in France. After traditional mash fermentation process, this wine has been aged for 16 months in partly new barrique barrels to refine its character.

Tasting notes: Highly complex and dense but transparent in the bouquet of wild cherries, red plums, spicy raspberries and black truffles. On the palate this wine shows the levitating richness that only a good Pinot can deliver. Under a velvety coat a remarkable minerality can be found, freshing up the savoury aroma of spiced cherries, roast damson and mahogany. Structured by outstandingly fine and silky textured tannin. The brilliant and filigree acidity gives a pleasant vitality to the fine fruit body. Full of character and with the savoury touch and great complexity of a truly great wine in the finish.

Food recommendation: A perfect partner with sophisticated meat dishes, especially when herbs or roast aromas play a major role. Equally good with feathered game and various types of savoury cheeses.
