A deep ruby red wine, this Spätburgunder Grand Cru is dense, powerful and juicy on the palate with very good length and excellent structure. It has aromas of wild berries, tobacco, black tea and roasted hazelnuts. This German Pinot Noir has great aging potential.
The vineyard where the grapes were grown in Weissenburg is favourably south-facing and therefore benefits from optimum sunshine. The soil there is rich in limestone rock with a clayey loamy topsoil.
The grapes were carefully hand selected, de-stemmed and gently pressed. The wine matured for 18 months in small oak barrels.
