The grapes were grown in the most famous single site of Münster-Sarmsheim in Nahe called Dautenpflänzer. The difficult mane of the site is a pleonasm, because Dauten means young seedling and Pflänzer just the same. Göttelmann own 1.2 of 3.6 ha. The vineyards have a south-facing exposition, very steep 20-30% slopes and are covered with red quartzite slate gravel.
The vineyard is over 35 years old and the yield is not more than 45 hl/ha. Grapes - totally ripe green berries with red cheeks - were harvested in the last week of October.
The wine was fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel and matured in a huge wooden cask made of nearby Nunsrück oak, producing 2,000 bottles.
The perfect accompaniment for light meat, lean pork and veal.
