"The 2021 Forster Jesuitengarten Riesling GG is on eof the stars of the vineyard in the Pfalz and all Germany. It displays very clear, concentrated and ripe fruit with yeasty and smokey spicy notes an the very deep and complex nose. Vital, pure and fresh on the palate, tremendously compact, with lots of energy and saltinity, this is an exceptional dry Riesling from the small Frost grand cru. 12,5% state alcohol". - Tasted in Wiesbaden / August 2022  - 96+ points by Robert Parker

Vineyard: Situated on the outskirts of Forst, in the immediate vicinity of Kirchenstück and Ungehauer, the Jesuitengarten is one of the best vineyards in the Papteinate due to its extremely high mineral content. The site is famous for its fine and elegant wines with high complexity. The. name is derived from properties of the former Jesuit monastery of Neustadt an der Weistrasse. In 1793 the Jordan family bought the whole vineyard.

Soil: Sandy loam, sandstone rocks, high concentration of iron in the soil, partly basalt.

Wine making: The grapes come from the oldest plots of the Jesuit garden and are selectively harvested in several passes. Great importance is attached to pre-clarified by sedimentation. Fermentation takes lace for the most part in traditional wooden barrels with yeasts from the vineyard.

Taste: Pome fruit, citrus fruits, herbal spice and light smokiness characterize the aroma of the Jesuitengarten GG. On the palate an elegant wine wonderful balance, typical minetality and some saltiness. This Riesling harmonizes wonderfully with shellfish, mussels, fish and white meat, as well as with medium-strong vegetable dishes and discreetly spicy cuisine.
