The grapes are grown in a little side valley of the Nahe river. The vineyards here are very steep and south facing. The soil is slightly red coloured, which is an indication of ferrous oxide. A substance that is responsible for the development of peach and apricot aromas.
The grapes are picked in the middle of October, fermented with indigenous yeast and the wine was matured in huge oak casks.
