The Saarfeils is a perfectly south-facing slope along the Saar, one of the warmest sites in this sub-region, and located at a 90° bend on this north/south river. Twice in history the river has changed course and, in doing so, left its sand and gravel sediments to join the older slate subsoils. This mix imparts a feather-like delicacy to the wines. These are fruit-driven wines and labeled with the assignation ‘Saarfeilser’.
A distinctive, off-dry Riesling with a lively spicy nose, deep, full-bodies minerality and a taut, rigid core.
