Wine: This Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) has a complex bouquet of blackberry, elderberry, cherry, raspberry, vanilla and dark chocolate, as well as notes of cedarwood. It has elegant tannins, excellent structure, intensity and a multi-layered aftertaste on the palate. It also has great aging potential.
Vineyard: The vineyard is situated in the Ahr valley, between Dernau and Ahrweiler. The steep slopes of the valley and slate rich soil create optimal growing conditions for the old vines.
Vinification: The fully ripened grapes are selected by hand and gently crushed. Must fermentation and maceration takes place over 20 days. The wine is matured in barriques (French oak barrels) for 12 months.
Drinking recommendation: This Spätburgunder si the prefect accompaniment to poultry, light meat, pasta and mushroom dishes, as well as spicy or grilled fish.
