Vineyard: Selected of the Ahr wines are based on a perfect microclimate created by geological conditions. The steep, south-facing vineyards provide optimal exposure to the sun. The predominant weathering soil of slate and greywacke are easily heatable and able to store this heat as well. This is how the narrow valley which is protected by the mountains of the Eifel quickly heats up and offers the vines an ideal habitat.

Wine: The Rosé is a wine that is made from red Pinot Noir grapes and shows up with a salmon to rosé colour. This slight reddish on rosé wine comes from the fact that the red wine grapes are treated like white wine: the grapes are only a few hours in contact to the skin before they are pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
This intensely salmon-coloured Pinot Noir Rosé is a wine for the sunny days of the year. It beguiles in the nose with pronounced raspberry, strawberry and a little violet. On the palate, the rosé is a very juicy, concentrated with good melting and freshness and shows up with a nice harmony between sweet and acidity.

Vinification: The Pinot Noir grapes are picked by hand and transported to the winery in small boxes. The grapes are pressed gently, the must is clarified by sedimentation. The cooled and strained fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. After several weeks of storage on the lees, the filling takes place after about 6 months.
