Chardonnay from the Ihringer Winklerberg site is marked by an extraordinary minerality, that only can occur on the soil of weathered volcanic rock. This gives the wines in addition to their power, elegance, and finesse, This wine has been fermented in barriques and aged in small French barrels.
Very precise, filigree, and yet expressive varietal aroma of young greengages, white hazelnuts, citrus compote, white apple, stony minerality, and very discreetly smoky hints of spices. Minerally freshness and vivid core likewise in the first impression on the palate. backbone full of character and firm but well-integrated acidity structure. Day-bright aroma with striking salty grip in the finish. Great inner density, but due to the firm structure without any heaviness.
