This dry Riesling has aromas of apricot and tangerine. It has flavours of fruit and hints of the Hunsrück oak barrels it was matured in, followed by a long lasting aftertaste.
The Riesling grapes were grown on soil rich in gravel of red quarzite slate. The south-facing vineyard has steep slopes with a 30-50% gradient and is more than 35 years old. One single vine stands for 1 bottle.
The grapes were harvested by hand during the second week of October. The juice was fermented with indigenous yeast in stainless steel vats and then left to mature in huge wooden casks made of nearby Hunstück oak. The wine was left on the yeast until it was bottled the following May.
