Vineyard: The KIRCHENSTUCK is the most prestigious vineyard in the Pfalz (Palatinate-region) and by this the Romanée-Conti of the Pfalz. The KIRCHENSTUCK vineyard has only 3,67 ha of size. It is the only vineyard in the entire region, which was ranked by the highest ground-ranking (65 points) in 1828 by the government of the Bavarian Kingdom. The slope is situated just on the brim of the village of Forst behind its church!
Sandy loam with clay structure. Partly influenced by limestone and the in Forst so typical basalt – of volcanic origin. The KIRCHENSTUCK is partly surrounded by a brick-wall almost like a „clos”. The vineyard with the highest variation of stony in-layers.
Winemaking: Picked by hand at the end of September. Pressed. very carefully, fermented in traditional oak barrels and left on the fine yeast until bottling in June.
Tasting notes: This dry white wine is mineralic and salty with fresh acidity and a long finish. On the nose it has aromas of peach, apple, pear, maraca, some flint stone and toast.
Soil: it contains sandy loam with clay structure. Partly influenced by limestone and basalt of volcanic origin.
Food recommendation: This wine you can age for many years. When it still young it goes very weak with all kind of seafood and fish. The it aged it is also wonderful wine for all kind of dishes with white meat.
