"There is so much going on in these Wirsching wines, and this one especially. Cavalcades of flowers and fruit, herbs and nuts. It’s peachy and tropical, mangoes and white currants, but at a level of concentration and resplendence that’s hard to capture with words. Sumptuous but at the same time structured in a way that is both tenacious and diaphanous; like clouds carved out of marble, like breathing in hazy hills. Stunning now, but it will develop more and more beauty and complexity over the next 10 years. Silvaner at its zenith."

The vineyard is classified as VDP Grosse Lage. VPD. GROSSE LAGE (Grand Cru) is the highest classification of quality for German vineyards.

Wine: Hans Wirsching's Silvaner Grand Cru has an intense bouquet and a full body. It is characterised by mineral, wild herb, spicy and fruity notes such as nectarine and apricot. This dry white wine is intense, powerful and long-lasting. It has an astonishing range of flavours - a herbal character, balsamic richness, a clear and distinctive mineral tone and creaminess that evolves slowly on the palate.

As a young wine, this Grand Cru is already one of pure indulgence! However, its best drinking time is yet to come. In about 10 years, it will have reached its peak. A mature wine devotee will open it in 20 years' time with the greatest pleasure of experiencing its aromas, which will by then have developed to perfection.

Vineyard: Wirsching's first-class Franconian site, Julius-Echter-Berg', is where fantastic wines such as their Silvaner Grand Cru originate from. The vineyard is classified as VDP Grosse Lage. VPD. GROSSE LAGE (Grand Cru) is the highest classification of quality for German vineyards - and you can certainly taste it in this wine!

Viticulture: To create such a premium wine, a great deal of work was necessary in both the vineyard and the cellar. In the early stage of ripeness, yield reduction was necessary to ensure perfect conditions and concentration of the nutrients for the grapes remaining on the vines. The grapes were then harvested in late September.
