Jürgen Ellwanger 2021 Hebsacker Lemberger dry red wine

Jürgen Ellwanger 2021 Hebsacker Lemberger dry

Regular price £17.90
"Vinified in big, old wooden barrels. The grapes are also from the Lichtenberg vineyard (within the Hebsacker village commune) but selected from younger vines. Very young, Ellwanger tells me, 'but you can age Lemberger for 30 years'.

This smells gorgeous! Rose petals and cherries splice spices. Cinnamon. Telluric tannins – chewy but beautifully balanced. Cool and ripe at the same time, with the sweetness of a woodwind instrument singing through to the end. I love this VGV"

The Hebsacker Lemberger originates from a vineyard with VDP.GROSSE LAGE classification - the designation for the highest quality German vineyards. This lemberger is notable for its individual character and ability to express the essence of the vineyard of its origin.

This dry red wine has a delicious bouquet with aromas of dark berries and ripe plums. On the palate, it has flavours of cassis, blackberries and peppery spice. A very juicy red, with a little acidity and delicate tannins. Aged in large wooden barrels.
