Vineyard: Situated on the western brim of Deidesheim, the Hohenmorgen is one of the oldest examples for palatinated quality wine making. Hohenmorgen is a south facing slope with a total surface of 2,76ha. 2,09ha are owned by the von Bassermann-Jordan Estate. It is the smallest and most exclusive vineyard of Deidesheim with the highest rated quality of soil.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Apricot, pear, quince, lemon cent, orange.
Palette: Fresh and elegant with nice minerality and acidity.
Food recommendation: As a starter to your dinner, to pair with desserts, late or foie gras.
Wine-making: Selective harvest by hand in several passages.
Complete spontaneous fermentation: 10% fermented in traditional oak barrel, 90% in stainless steel
Soil: Loam and sand-loam with lot of eroded sandstone.
Alcohol: 7,5% vol.
Res. sugar: 143,6 g/l
Acidity: 9,2 g/l
