"Kochan & Platz have defined not only our rigid Mosel-is-Riesling assumptions, but also the assumption that Dornfelder is an inferior grape. Their Dornfelder red is another lip-smacking, glou-glou, heart-stealing wine-for-foodies at an equally heart-stealing price.
Cheeky cherry and cherry blossom. This is really fun, frivolous and pretty and juicy. Delicious. Chill?! Exactly the kind of wine I am always looking for when it comes to everyday food (especially chilli dishes) and summer reds..." / Tamlyn Currin @ Jancis Robinson / 16 points
This dry Dornfelder has an intense aroma of ripe sweet cherry, plum and raspberry jam. A typical Dornfelder, it is dark in colour, fruity, appealing and palatable. This makes it suitable for many occasions, and can even served slightly chilled in summer.
Vineyard: The grapes that were used to produce this Dornfelder come from the steep slopes of Lieser, in the heart of the Mosel region. The winery's deep respect for tradition and work that is in harmony with nature guarantees excellent qualities.
