In general, the appellation "Alte Reben" "Old Vines" defines the vine's age of at least 20 years. In their estate the grapes used for making such wines come from vines with an average age of 40 years. Old vines have thick and much deeper roots enabling them to take up more extracts and minerals from the soil the young plants. That gives the wine its powerful character.
This Riesling Alte Reben is characterized by a pleasant note of peach - its bouquet as well a its taste. Though vigorous in taste, the fine style originates from the elegant acidic balance.
