The Silvaner Alte Raben (old vines)fascinated with its intensive taste and minerality.
In general, the appellation "Alte Reben" (Old Vines) defines the vine's age of at least 20 years. In the estate the grapes used for making such wines from vines with an average age of 40 years. Old vines have thick and much deeper roots enabling them to take up more extracts and minerals from the soil then young plants. That gives the wine its powerful character.
