"A lasting Silvaner with powerful extract."
The Iphöfer Kronsberg is one of the top Franconian vineyards. It is pure Keuper site, facing south, but cooler due to the air currents from the eastern forests. The Kronsberg wines are characterised by fine fruit, great harmony and elegance.
Their Keuper soil is a sedimentary rock of clay, interspersed with fine and thicker veins of gypsum. Keuper wines have power and a full body, like the opulent marshy landscape in which the rock was formed. The older the vines, the better this co-called "terroir" can be tasted. Subtle fruity notes, a spicy, herbal aroma and a strong, mineral flavour that lingers.
With 40% share, Silvaner is the most important grape variety there. They focus on Franconian dry Silvaner, i.e. without testable sweetness. With Silvaner, you can feel the soil on which it was grown. That is why it used to be called "earthy". Silvaner is the ideal wine to accompany food, especially where food is prepared as gently and naturally as possible.
Its aroma is multi-layered: the taste of wild herbs, subtle fruity notes of pear and apple together with an enormous density and length give this wine a complex structure. A wine with great sustainability and future.
