Vineyard: In the 15th century, a lime kiln stood in this location, which leads to the current name of the camp. Today's vineyard site covers about 5 hectares. Of these, 1.1 ha allotted to the Bassermann-Jordan vineyard. The oldest part of their vineyard was landed in 1968 and it is still rooted.
From these vines originate the grapes for their "Grosse Gewächs Kalkofen". The vineyard is slightly inclined to the south and is bordered to the north by several sandstone walls.
Wine: Hand-selected grapes were harvested and pressed in several passes. The must was sedimented overnight and then fermented in stainless steel tanks. The individual batches were combined shortly before filling in July.
White peach, apple and passion fruit are the dominant aromas in this Riesling.
In the mouth it shows almost chalky minerality and saltiness paired with fresh acidity.
