Schloss Reinhartshausen 2015 Erbacher Hohenrain Riesling Spätlese

Schloss Reinhartshausen 2015 Erbacher Hohenrain Riesling Spätlese

Regular price £31.80

Schloss Rheinharthausen's Grand Cru sites are amongst the best in the world. For the cellar masters of Schloss Rheinhartshausen it is both an honour and a pleasure to be able to cultivate these benchmark sites. Horizontal wooden presses involving intense manual work gently to press the grapes of this Grand Cru.

The Hohenrain, located on a south-facing slope with a gradient of 10%, the vineyards benefit from sunshine until the early evening hours. The site is also protected from harsh westerly winds by a high wall.

In 1519 the site was mentioned for the first time as "wing art des reyngen" and 1543 as the "Hohenreine". The term "Rain" means a slope at the edge of agricultural land of a community, which means the wine site is next to the village of Kiedrich. In the Hoheimrain you find deep loess-loam and tertiary marly soil.
The late harvest has huge potential. This Spätlese has intense aromas of ripe apricots, orange blossoms and honey.
